City Council adopted Ordinance No. 13540 in June 2019 prohibiting city contracts or investments in companies contracting with the United States Immigration And Customs Enforcement (ICE) Or Customs And Border Protection (CBP) To Provide Services Or Goods For Data Collection Or Immigration Detention Facilities.

Privacy Principles (PDF)

City Council adopted Resolution 88071 in March 2020 establishing as City Policy seven privacy principles to assist city departments to develop and implement internal policies that protect the privacy of all Oakland residents, visitors and the public.
