Help plan for housing in Oakland! Join us at the second of four upcoming workshops on Oakland’s Housing Element – our plan for next eight years on where new housing should be located, and what we can do meet the housing needs of the community. Your input will help the team determine how the City plans for housing to meet the needs of our diverse and growing city!

Learn more about:

• Current City programs to promote housing, including affordable housing;
  
• State laws and City policies that allow for more housing in single-family zones; and
  
• Initial discussion on anti-displacement and housing protections (please note: this topic will be covered in depth at Workshop 3, date forthcoming).

Give us your thoughts on:

• Your vision for housing in Oakland;
• Programs that will increase the supply and diversity of housing;
  
• Zoning rules that should be changed – e.g., parking, building heights, density; and
  
• Ways to provide more housing opportunities in existing neighborhoods.
