East Oakland Futures Fest is an Afrofuturism-themed block party and Liberation Weekend event, celebrating the community as it exists today and envisioning a thriving future for the black community. East Oakland Futures Fest will take place along the Scraper Bike Way (90th Avenue) from Holly Street to Birch Street on June 3rd, 2023 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The festival footprint will be divided into eight zones (East Oakland Mobility Lab, Afro Futures, Building Prosperity, Arts & Culture, Health & Healing, Education, Food Sovereignty, Power in Place).

The GPU team will have a booth in the East Oakland Mobility Lab zone to share with residents about the Oakland General Plan Update's Environmental Justice and Safety Elements.

This event is free and open to all, especially and most importantly to Deep East Oakland residents.
