The Howard Terminal Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) process launched on Saturday, January 11, 2020 with the CBA Orientation at Preservation Park, with over 150 community members, advocates, and other Oakland stakeholders in attendance. The orientation included a presentation by Darlene Flynn, Director of the Department of Race and Equity, and concluded with the attendees assembling into the CBA Topic Cohorts that they are interested in. Seven Topic Cohorts have been identified for the Howard Terminal CBA: Economic Development, Housing, Transportation, Community Health & Safety, Education, Environment, and Community History/Culture Keeping. The Topic Cohorts were identified based on engagement with community members, advocates, and other Oakland stakeholders in 2019. As the CBA process evolves, there may be additional topics introduced.
