The City of Oakland is making changes to its Planning Code and Zoning Map to implement the new Housing Element and encourage more diverse housing types in neighborhoods, make it easier to build housing (especially affordable housing), and advance environmental justice. Join us at a virtual Town Hall to:

• Get a general overview about zoning, a land use tool the City uses to determine how a property can or cannot be used, and how it affects housing in Oakland
• Hear about proposed zoning changes, including the City’s Affordable Housing Overlay, ‘Missing Middle’ Zoning amendments, and others, and how they might affect your neighborhood or property
• Ask any questions or voice concerns you may have
• Recommend any refinements to these changes before decisionmaker hearings in June 2023
