THIS IS AN IN-PERSON MEETING.

How to Participate in this Public Meeting:

  • Enter City Hall at the entrance on 14th Street.
  • After receiving a security check, proceed to the stairs farthest from the 14th Street entrance, on the left.
  • Hearing Room 4 is located on the 2nd floor of City Hall on the side of the building farthest from 14th Street. There will be a sign-in sheet and paper agenda packets for participants.

Remote participation including public comment via teleconferencing is not available at this time. Hybrid meetings may commence once the City of Oakland has established meeting procedures and allocated resources for simultaneously supporting in-person and remote participation. All Commission meetings will include procedures to comply with the open meeting requirements of the City’s Sunshine Ordinance and the State’s Brown Act.

  1. Recent Bicyclist and Pedestrian Severe and Fatal Traffic Crashes

    Commissioner Schader (patricias.oakland@gmail.com) will lead the Commission in a discussion of recent fatal and other high-profile traffic crashes in Oakland involving bicyclists and pedestrians.

  2. BPAC Commissioner Recommendations

    The Recruitment Committee will report back with recommendations from its review of applications of people seeking to be appointed to the BPAC for three-year terms beginning January 2024. The Committee is recommending Enjoleah Daye, Cynthia Citlali Herrera, and David Ralston (reappointment). Commissioners are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council.

  3. Vision 980 Study

    Becky Frank and Hunter Oatman-Stanford, transportation planners from the Office of Regional and Community Planning at Caltrans District 4, will introduce Caltrans’ Vision 980 Study.

  4. Safe Routes to BART Application for Lakeside Drive Cycle Track Project

    Craig Raphael, Senior Transportation Planner with OakDOT’s Capital Finance team (CRaphael@oaklandca.gov), will provide an overview of and request a BPAC letter of support for an upcoming application to the Safe Routes to BART construction grant program for a cycle track at Lakeside Drive between International Boulevard and 19th Street. Craig will also be able to answer questions about the City of Oakland’s involvement in the Safe Routes to BART program to date.

  5. Report from Ad-Hoc Committee on Fire Code Amendments

    Commissioner Frank will lead a discussion on the BPAC’s planned response to the Oakland Fire Department’s recommendations to the City Council Public Safety Committee regarding Appendix D of the City of Oakland’s Fire Code.
