On April 10, 2019, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission (PRAC) heard and voted on six (6) recommendations for approval including: the installation of a split-rail fence on the east bank of Sausal Creek at El Centro Avenue in Dimond Canyon; a bench dedication to Sharon Webster Kidder and John Kidder located in the Gardens at Lake Merrit; the OneLife Institute poetry reading and live band concert at Lake Merritt Sailboat House on October 6, 2019; a Walk/Run event sponsored by the Obsessive-Compulsive Foundation at Lake Merritt on June 8, 2019; Oakland Rising’s Progressive Party and Townie Awards Fundraiser on June 20, 2019 at Lakeside Park Garden Center; Renaming Nicol Park to Gwen Jackson Park.
