Arrest Made in Armed Robbery Series
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) arrested an individual responsible for committing several armed robberies at liquor stores throughout Oakland.
The first incident occurred on October 20, 2022, in the 2700 block of 23rd Avenue, just after 7:30 PM. The victim told investigators that an individual approached the counter as if they were going to pay for items, instead produced a firearm, demanded money, and fled the scene.
The second incident occurred on October 23, 2022, in the 10800 block of Bancroft Avenue, shortly before 8:45 AM. An individual approached the counter to purchase an item before displaying a firearm, demanding money, and fleeing the scene.
A third incident occurred on October 25, 2022, in the 4200 block of MacArthur Boulevard, shortly before 8:30 PM. The individual used the same motive of approaching the counter, pointing a firearm at the victim, and demanding money before fleeing the scene, this time in a vehicle.
Thanks to the collaborative work of dedicated OPD patrol officers and investigators, the individual was arrested by OPD's Violent Crime Operations Center (VCOC).
The individual made a full confession and has been charged with multiple counts of robbery.
