OPD Needs Help Locating Vehicle Wanted in Fatal Hit-and-Run
Today, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) Traffic Investigation Unit released photos of a vehicle wanted in connection with the fatal hit-and-run of Tzu-Ta Ko, a 100-year-old, Oakland resident. The collision occurred on February 19, 2023, just after 7:00 AM, at the intersection of 19th Street and Harrison Street.
The vehicle is described as a tan or white Mini Cooper (pictured above).
The Oakland Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering a reward up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.

BACKGROUND:
The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating a fatal hit-and-run collision that occurred on February 19, 2023, just after 7:00 AM. OPD officers were dispatched to the intersection of 19th Street and Harrison Street on a report of a hit-and-run collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
Upon arrival, officers located the injured victim (adult male) with severe head trauma from the collision. The Oakland Fire Department (OFD) and Falck Ambulance arrived on scene and provided aid to the victim who succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle that struck the victim fled the scene and has been identified as a tan or white Mini Cooper.
The victim was a 100-year-old, male Asian, Oakland resident. His identification is being withheld until notifications to the family are made.
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in this investigation.
