The Oakland Police Department's 911 ANSWERING SPEED BY MONTH

The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) standard for 911 call processing is as follows:

90% of all 9-1-1 calls arriving at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) shall be answered within 15 seconds or less.

The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) standard for 911 call processing is as follows:

90% of all 911 calls arriving at the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) shall be answered within 15 seconds or less. The goal of the Oakland Police Department is to answer 95% of all 911 calls within 15 seconds. 95% of all 911 calls should be answered within 20 seconds or less, which is OPD's goal. The application of the standard shall begin at the time of Call Arrival and extends to the time of Call Answer at the point when two-way communication can begin.
