The Oakland Police Department made an arrest in the homicide that occurred in the 2400 block of E. 24th Street on April 6th. The case will be presented to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation no further details will be released at this time.

The Oakland Police Department made an arrest in the homicide that occurred in the 2400 block of E. 24th Street on April 6th. The case will be presented to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation no further details will be released at this time.

Background:

On April 6, 2021, at 1:17 PM, the Oakland Police Department Communications Division received a call reporting a shooting in the 2400 block of E. 24th Street. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). Officers attempted life-saving measures at the scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin. Anyone with information can contact the Homicide Section at (510) 238-3821 or the TIP LINE at (510) 238-7950.
