City Council to Consider Brooklyn Basin Expansion Project on May 2, 2023

The Oakland City Council will hold a public hearing to review, take public testimony and decide to approve or deny the Brooklyn Basin Marina Expansion Project on Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Oakland City Council will hold a public hearing to review, take public testimony and make a decision for approval or denial for the Brooklyn Basin Marina Expansion Project (the “Project”) on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. The City Council hearing follows the Planning Commission’s recent consideration of the Project and recommendation that the City Council: (1) certify the Supplemental Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), (2) approve the General Plan Amendment; (3) approve a zoning text amendment (4) approve the Project’s third Development Agreement Amendment, and (5) approve the proposed revision to the Preliminary Development Plan (PDP) for the Planned Unit Development (PUD) permit.

Proposal: Modifications to the Brooklyn Basin Marina Expansion Project. The Project Modifications include an increase of 600 residential units (for a Project site total of up to 3,700 units), allowance to relocate planned tower sites, an update to the parking ratios, and marina improvements to accommodate a water taxi/shuttle service.

The Planning Commission recommended each action for approval by the City Council.
