Saturday, June 11, 2022, the Oakland Police Department is teaming up with several community partners to hold a unique and innovative gun buyback titled: Guns to Gardens.
The surrendered firearms will become repurposed garden tools to help beautify the city of Oakland.
The event will take place, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm, At Thy Word Ministries, 8915 International Blvd.
The first 50 people to turn in their firearms will receive a forged garden tool. Additionally, those turning in their firearm will receive a gift card in the amount of $100-$300 depending on the type of gun surrendered.
All the firearms collected at the event will ultimately be forged into garden tools.
