On January 25, 2021, at approximately 7:59 PM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of 30th Street to investigate a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (non-Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s) in the 2800 block of Chestnut Street. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew were additionally on the scene and provided medical treatment. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent homicide.
