Homicide Investigation in the 1700 block of 65th Avenue

On September 25, 2020, at approximately 09:30 p.m., the Oakland Police Department responded to the 1700 block of 65th
Ave on reports of gunshots.

On September 25, 2020, at approximately 09:30 p.m., the Oakland Police Department responded to the 1700 block of 65th Avenue on reports of gunshots. Officers arrived on the scene and located one male Oakland resident and one female Sacramento resident suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male victim succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The female victim was transported to an area hospital and is currently listed in stable condition.

A third victim, a female Oakland resident, self-transported from the scene to the hospital with gunshot wounds and is also listed in stable condition.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
