The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on August 22, 2021, just before 6:30 AM, in the 1900 block of Foothill Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a shooting.
Officers arrived on the scene and located a male Oakland resident with a gunshot wound(s). Oakland Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and provided additional medical treatment. Unfortunately, the victim died on the scene.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. His identity is being withheld pending notification to next-of-kin.
