On December 19, 2020, at approximately 4:04 AM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 68th Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a male juvenile Oakland resident suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew were on scene. The victim was transported to an area hospital and pronounced deceased by medical staff. Officers discovered the shooting took place in the 1400 block of 28th Avenue.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
