Homicide Investigation in the 2800 block of MacArthur Boulevard

The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on August 18, 2021, around 4:45 AM, in the 2800 block of MacArthur Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a shooting.

The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on August 18, 2021, around 4:45 AM, in the 2800 block of MacArthur Boulevard. Officers were dispatched to investigate a report of a shooting.

Officers arrived on the scene and located a male with a gunshot wound(s). Officers administered aid to the victim until medical assistance arrived on the scene. Oakland Fire Department personnel responded to the scene and provided medical treatment. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he died.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to take over the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. The victim has been identified as a 33-year-old, male, Oakland resident. His identity is being withheld pending notification to next-of-kin.
