On February 21, 2021, around 9:35 PM, Oakland Police Patrol Officers responded to the 4200 block of Bancroft Avenue for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located two male victims (Oakland residents) suffering from gunshot wounds.
Officers on the scene attempted life-saving measures until medical personnel arrived. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew transported both victims to a local hospital. Unfortunately, one of the victims later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent homicide.
