Homicide Investigation in the 5500 block of East 15th Street

On December 16, 2020, at approximately 6:34 PM the Communications Division received reports of a shooting in the 5500 block of East 15th Street.

On December 16, 2020, at approximately 6:34 PM the Communications Division received reports of a shooting in the 5500 block of East 15th Street. Officers responded to the scene and located a male adult victim (an Oakland resident) suffering from a gun-shot wound. Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew were on scene. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
