Homicide Investigation in the 5800 block of Elizabeth Street

On September 27, 2020, at approximately 3:40 p.m., the Oakland Police Department responded to the 5800 block of Elizabeth Street on reports of gunshots.

On September 27, 2020, at approximately 3:40 pm, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 5800 block of Elizabeth Street on reports of gunshots. Officers arrived on scene and located a male juvenile Oakland resident suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
