On October 18th, 2020, at approximately 2:20 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 8300 block International Boulevard. Officers arrived on the scene and located a male Oakland resident suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s). Responding officers provided medical aid until relieved by Oakland Fire Department personnel and Falck ambulance crew. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
