Homicide Investigation in the 8900 block of MacArthur Boulevard

On October 26th, 2020 at about 10:40 PM, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 8900 block of MacArthur Boulevard for a ShotSpotter Activation for gunshots. Upon arrival, officers located a solo vehicle collision and the driver and only occupant of the vehicle suffering from gunshot wound(s). The male victim, an Antioch resident was treated by medical personnel at the scene, but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second victim, self-transported to an area hospital where they are listed in stable condition.

Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
