On August 25th, 2020, at approximately 7:36 PM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the area of 71st Avenue and International Boulevard on the report of a ShotSpotter activation. Upon arrival, they located a male adult Union City resident suffering from gunshot wounds in the 1400 block of 71st Avenue. Medical personnel arrived on scene and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.
Oakland Police Homicide Investigators responded to the scene and began the follow-up investigation into the circumstances surrounding the apparent shooting. The victim’s identity is being withheld pending notification to next of kin.
