District boundaries have changed for City Council and School Board Districts, effective February 23, 2022. Read more about how your district has been affected.

On February 23. 2022, the Redistricting Commission voted to approve Resolution No 22-004 to adopt Final Plan (Map Plan F5) which describes the new district boundaries for the City Council and School Board. This process, based on the 2020 U.S. Census, ensures that each district fairly reflects Oakland's population changes. These boundaries are in effect through 2030.

Further Background on New Redistricting Adoption Process

The Redistricting Commission adopted the final draft of its Charter Report during its January 26, 2023 meeting. The report documents the Commission's formation and the basis for which the Commission made its decisions in achieving compliance with the criteria listed in Section 220(E) in the Charter of the City of Oakland. The Commission Charter Report incorporates outreach efforts compiled in an outreach report prepared by the Commission's outreach consultant, The outreach report can be viewed here.

On February 23, 2022, the Oakland Redistricting Commission voted to approve Resolution No. 22-004 to adopt Draft Map F5 which describes the new district boundaries for the City Council and School Board. Final Map Plan F5 is now available. Draft Map F5 and prior draft maps can be viewed on draft district map proposals.
