OPD Arrests Three Suspects in Oakland Estuary Burglary Case

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) Marine Unit and Criminal Investigation Division Burglary Unit conducted a joint investigation in which three suspects were arrested for burglary connected to thefts around the Oakland Estuary.

OPD News: 

OPD Arrests Three Suspects in Oakland Estuary Burglary Case

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) Marine Unit and Criminal Investigation Division Burglary Unit conducted a joint investigation in which three suspects were arrested for burglary connected to thefts around the Oakland Estuary.

On March 13, 2024, a maritime business on the Embarcadero was burglarized. The business provided responding officers with video of the break-in.

Officers from the Marine Unit recognized the burglary suspects from the video as individuals living on boats in the estuary.
On March 28, 2024, the Marine Unit, supported by the Burglary Unit served two search warrants on two associated vessels in the estuary. Officers recovered the loss from the burglary and arrested three individuals for burglary.

The case will be presented to the Alameda District Attorney’s Office for charging.

This incident and the ongoing thefts in and around the Oakland estuary are still under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPD Burglary Unit at (510) 238-3951.
