OPD Busts Illegal Casino, Recovers Firearms and Narcotics

The Oakland Police Department is investigating illegal gambling operations in the 1000 block of E. 12th Street. On January 30, 2025, members of OPD’s Special Resources Sections (SRS) East and West executed multiple search warrants in response to recent violent incidents in the area.

During the search, officers discovered an unlicensed casino and recovered several illegal firearms, narcotics, cash, and multiple unlicensed gaming machines. Additionally, officers arrested a suspect with an outstanding warrant for a shooting in Oakland.

This operation highlights the diligent efforts of OPD officers in addressing crime and enhancing community safety. OPD would like to thank our community members who continue to report illegal activities. We encourage residents to continue working with the department by reporting illegal gambling or other dangerous activities to help keep our neighborhoods safe.
