OPD Ceasefire Officers Recover Multiple Firearms and Make Several Arrests
In ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and combat violent crime, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) has made significant arrests and recovered dangerous weapons in two separate incidents.
On January 30, 2025, OPD Ceasefire officers arrested a suspect wanted in connection with an assault involving a firearm. Following the arrest, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in East Oakland near the San Leandro border, where they recovered body armor, firearms, ammunition, and multiple firearm accessories. Officers also arrested a second individual with an outstanding robbery warrant.
On January 27, 2025, Ceasefire Officers observed an individual waving a firearm while standing on the sidewalk in the 10300 block of International Boulevard. Officers arrested the suspect along with two additional armed individuals. During the arrests, officers recovered a firearm with a 100-round magazine and two firearms, each with a 30-round magazine.
