OPD Investigations Result in Multiple Arrests and Recovery of Firearms
Two separate investigations by the Oakland Police Department led to multiple arrests and nearly a dozen firearms being taken off the streets.
The first investigation occurred on March 6, 2024, around 7:00 a.m. at several locations in and outside of the city of Oakland. Officers assigned to the Ceasefire Division and Special Resource Section (SRS) East executed outstanding search warrants related to shootings. As a result, four individuals were taken into custody, and five firearms were recovered.
Later that same day, around 5:00 p.m., officers from SRS West conducted a traffic stop in Alameda on individuals wanted for an outstanding warrant for a shooting. In all, five individuals, including one juvenile, were arrested, and five firearms were recovered. Officers also served a search warrant at the residence of one of the arrested individuals, leading to the recovery of ammunition, marijuana, and ecstasy intended for sale.
The tireless efforts and dedication of our officers resulted in the recovery of 10 firearms in these two cases alone. The recovery of these firearms and narcotics stands as a testament to the exceptional work ethic and professionalism of our staff.
