OPD Makes Multiple Arrests and Recover Firearms in Two Investigations

OPD News:

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has made progress in two significant investigations. 
 

On November 21, 2024, OPD’s Special Resource Section (SRS) East members played a crucial role in a shooting investigation in the 9500 block of Walnut Street. A juvenile was struck during the incident and transported to a local hospital, where they are recovering. Through the diligent efforts of officers, two suspects were identified and arrested in the area of 102nd Avenue and International Boulevard. Officers recovered an AR-15 firearm during the investigation, with a second firearm located at a residence associated with the suspects.

On November 20, 2024, SRS East officers wrapped up a long-term investigation into an armed robbery that occurred on November 2, 2024, in the area of 70th Avenue and Snell Street. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the theft. Officers recovered two firearms and evidence linked to the crime.

These arrests and recoveries highlight OPD's ongoing commitment to proactive policing and efforts to reduce violence in our community. OPD is dedicated to preventing crime and ensuring public safety.
