OPD Seeks to Return Recovered Items

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating multiple residential burglaries in an Oakland neighborhood on January 20, 2025. Two days later, on January 22, 2025, OPD officers located the suspect’s vehicle in the 3900 block of Piedmont Avenue.

When officers attempted a traffic stop, the suspect intentionally rammed a fully marked patrol vehicle, causing minor injuries to the two OPD Sergeants before leaving the scene. However, items believed to have been stolen during the burglaries were later recovered from a local business.

OPD is releasing this photograph of the recovered items in hopes of returning them to their rightful owner.

The suspect, Michael Shea, surrendered to the Berkeley Police Department on January 26, 2025.

This case remains under investigation. If you recognize any of the recovered items or have additional information, please contact OPD’s Burglary Unit at (510) 238-3951.

OPD is committed to ensuring community safety and strengthening trust with Oakland residents.
