OPD Seizes Vehicle After Reckless Driving and Failure to Yield

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) was conducting an investigation on January 24, 2025, just before 7:15 p.m. in the 4300 block of Bancroft Avenue when officers witnessed a vehicle committing multiple traffic violations. OPD’s Motorcycle Traffic Enforcement Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver failed to yield, driving recklessly and nearly colliding with other motorists before leaving the area.

On January 26, 2025, officers from OPD’s Special Resource Section (SRS) West located and seized the vehicle as part of the ongoing investigation.

This case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Oakland Police Department Traffic Unit at (510) 777-8570.

OPD remains dedicated to ensuring the safety of Oakland residents by addressing reckless driving and holding individuals accountable for endangering public safety.
