OPD to Increase Presence and Enforcement for Lakefest

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) will have a higher presence of officers, traffic posts, and enforcement around Lake Merritt tomorrow, in support of the Lakefest Oakland event.

To ensure the safety and well-being of our residents, we have assigned additional officers to both the Lakefest event and the surrounding areas of Lake Merritt. Our officers will be on hand to enforce laws and maintain order in our parks and on roadways.

Temporary Road Closures: 

To facilitate the event and ensure public safety, the following temporary road closures will be in effect on June 22, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM:

1. Bellevue Avenue from Grand Avenue to Perkins St (Lakefest Location)
2. Perkin Avenue from Grand Avenue to Bellevue Avenue
3. Ellita Avenue from Grand Avenue to Bellevue Avenue
4. Staten Avenue from Grand Avenue to Bellevue Avenue
5. Bellevue Avenue from Perkins Street to Grand Avenue
6. El Embarcadero from Grand Avenue to Lakeshore Avenue
