Today, September 30, the State of California’s Rent Eviction Moratorium ends. This end date has no impact on the City of Oakland. Oakland’s moratorium on evictions and rent increases will continue until the Local Emergency is terminated by Oakland City Council.

The Oakland Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on September 29, 2021, just before 7:30 PM, in the 8300 block of International Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located a male adult, Oakland resident, suffering from apparent gunshot wound(s). Officers attempted lifesaving measures until medical assistance arrived on the scene.
