On May 16th, 2021, just before 6:00 PM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 2100 block of E. 26th Street for a male down on the ground. Officers arrived on the scene and located a male 17-year-old juvenile suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers attempted lifesaving measures.

The City of Oakland experienced two separate illegal Sideshows over the weekend. Starting on Saturday night, the Oakland Police Department (OPD) saw close to 200 vehicles traveling in and out of Oakland and nearby cities for six hours.

The violence started early Friday morning just before 12:45 AM. Officers responded to the 2300 block of 55th Avenue to investigate the report of a male on the ground. Once on scene officers located an unresponsive male suffering from gunshot wound(s). Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on the scene.
