Missing person Edwin Roldan

The Oakland Police Department is requesting assistance from the media and the public in locating missing person Mr. Edwin Roldan.

Mr. Roldan was last seen at his family’s residence on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at 7:00 PM, which is located in the 1600 block of 85th Avenue. Mr. Roldan has not been seen or heard of since.

On April 7th, 2021, at approximately 8:57 PM the Communications Division received reports of a shooting in the 1100 block of 77th Avenue. Officers responded to the scene and located a female adult victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

The Oakland Police Department made an arrest in the homicide that occurred in the 2400 block of E. 24th Street on April 6th. The case will be presented to the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. This is an ongoing investigation no further details will be released at this time.

Chief LeRonne L. Armstrong announced at a press conference today his plans to address the violence in his city. The Oakland Police Department (OPD) reports there have been 34 homicides this year. That is a 230% increase over this same time last year when 10 people lost their lives to violence in Oakland. “It hurts my heart when I arrive at a homicide scene and I hear the screams of grief from the family and see the tears rolling down their faces after losing a loved one,” says Chief Armstrong.

On March 30, 2021, the Antioch Police Department requested assistance from the Oakland Police Department in apprehending two suspects who were wanted for murder in Antioch. Both suspects are believed to be connected to numerous shootings in Oakland.
