The Oakland Police Department has seen an increase in carjacking’s citywide. Many of these incidents appear to be crimes of opportunity.

On March 2, 2021, at 10:12 p.m., Oakland police officers were dispatched to the 2100 block of International Boulevard to investigate a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, responding officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

On February 26, 2021, at approximately 12:05 PM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 3600 block of Green Acres Road to investigate a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).

The Oakland Police Department is investigating a shooting in the 2900 block of Capp Street. The incident occurred on February 27, 2021, around 6:35 PM. The Oakland Police Communications Division received a ShotSpotter activation of multiple shots near that location.

On February 25, 2021, at 10:43 p.m., Oakland police officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of 102nd Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).
