Homicide Investigation

On January 26, 2021, at approximately 8:32 PM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 7800 block of Bancroft Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).

On January 18, 2021, at approximately 6:01 AM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 10200 block San Leandro Street to investigate a report of an auto collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located a pedestrian, who was unconscious and lying in the street.

Upon their arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (non-Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s) in the 2800 block of Chestnut Street.

Today, the California Department of Public Health announced effective today the Bay Area region meets the criteria to exit the Regional Stay At Home Order. Alameda County has issued a new Health Officer Order to align with the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, and activities and businesses permitted in the Purple Tier may resume operation immediately. There are no additional local restrictions at this time.
