The City of Oakland has been legally directed to suspend the requirement that all newly constructed buildings be all-electric as per Oakland Municipal Code 15.37

 

On December 15, 2020, Oakland City Council voted to adopt legislation requiring all newly-constructed buildings to be all-electric, except for attached Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs).

The Oakland Police Department Traffic Division has seen an increase in fatalities on Oakland roadways. This year, 33 people were killed on Oakland streets, compared to 27 in 2019. Most of these collisions occurred between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
