City Reminds Businesses that Flex Street Initiative has Streamlined Permitting for use of Public Rights-of-Way

Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, OUSD Superintendent Kyla Johnson-Trammel, and non-profit Community Development Finance announced an innovative new pilot program that will provide affordable housing options for teachers and help keep educators rooted in Oakland.

The City of Oakland’s Planning & Building Department launched a new application called, Oakland Building Inspection Request, making it easier for customers to schedule building inspections.

Oakland, CA. – The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is providing several updates to the previous information released related to the events of November 3, 2020, regarding an Officer-Involved Shooting (OIS), and the armed robbery/burglary caravans that targeted Oakland that same evening.

On November 9, 2020, at approximately 5:01 PM the Communications Division received reports of a shooting in the 10400 block of Nattress Way.

On November 9, 2020, at approximately 5:12 PM the Communications Division received reports of a possible shooting in the area of East 19^th Street and 23^rd Avenue.

On November 8, 2020, at approximately 11:37 AM the Communications Division received reports of a shooting in the 1000 block of 71^st Avenue.

On November 8, 2020, at approximately 2:55 AM officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Martin Luther King Way to investigate a report of a shooting.

On November 7, 2020, at approximately 11:34 PM officers were on patrol when they heard gunshots coming from the area of 83^rd Avenue and A Street.

On November 6, 2020, at about 3:36 AM, the Oakland Police Department Patrol Division was dispatched to the 1800 block of Independence Way for a Shotspotter activation.
