On August 23rd, 2020, at approximately 12:15 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the area of Pearmain Street and 105th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

On August 18th, 2020, at about 9:50 PM, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 1400 Blk. of Miller Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation for gunshots.

The city of Oakland has also experienced an unsettling rise in violent crime recently. Since Thursday, August 6, 2020, five people tragically lost their lives in our city to gun violence.
