Numerous firearms, drugs, and several people are in custody after a month-long investigation by OPD’s Robbery Division and Intelligence Unit. OPD located the robbery suspects at a rented Airbnb in South San Francisco.

On August 23, 2020, at approximately 12:24 am, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 2500 block of 99th Avenue on reports of a shooting.

On August 22, 2020, at approximately 2:57 am, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 1000 block of 69^th Avenue on reports of a stabbing

Starting today, OPD is accepting applications for Dispatchers in the Department's Communications Division.

On August 23rd, 2020, at approximately 12:15 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the area of Pearmain Street and 105th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

On August 18th, 2020, at about 9:50 PM, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 1400 Blk. of Miller Avenue for a ShotSpotter activation for gunshots.

On August 14th, 2020 at about 3:29 PM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 10900 block of Beverly Avenue on a report of gunshots.

On August 15th, 2020 at about 11:55 PM, officers responded to the 10300 Blk. of Sunnyside St. for a ShotSpotter Activation for gunshots.

On August 15th, 2020, at about 10:33 PM, Oakland Police Officers responded to the 6500 block International Blvd. to investigate a Shotspotter Alert.

OPD CARES is the Department’s new initiative, as we stand with our community focusing on the prevention of violence through outreach, and engagement. The Oakland Police Department recognizes the traumatic impact violence can have on a community, particularly amid a COVID-19 Pandemic. Any response to violence from OPD requires partnership with our community. As we plan to deploy additional resources to the areas most impacted by the violence, we remain committed to deterring further violence and identifying those responsible in a focused and intelligence-led approach.
