As part of the City of Oakland’s Flex Streets Imitative the Planning & Building Department has waived fees and streamlined the permit process, making it easier for restaurants and retail spaces to operate on privately owned and leased spaces including parking lots, yard space, and courtyards.

Today just before eight this morning, 12-year-old Kenise Cox was identified by an AC Transit Bus Driver boarding a bus at 1100 Seminary Ave. Oakland Police Officers safely located Kenise at the Eastmont Transit Center. OPD would like to thank our community, media partners, and outside law enforcement agencies for their help.

The Community Access Fund stipend application is now open for Howard Terminal Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) participants and will remain open on a rolling basis for the duration of the 2020 CBA process.
Stipend checks will be issued quarterly and administered by All Home.

The City of Oakland and Waste Management of Alameda County Inc., announced today that curbside bulky pickup services will resume July 1, providing all Oakland residents an opportunity to dispose of large unwanted items at no charge by simply making an appointment and placing items curbside before 6 a.m. on their scheduled bulky pickup day. Residents can contact Waste Management now at (510) 613-8710 to schedule a curbside pickup.
