Late last night, (Friday, July 10), Alameda County issued a press release regarding updated State-issued guidance, dated July 9, stating that outdoor dining is prohibited in non-variance counties, which includes Alameda County. While Alameda County’s Health Officer Order had allowed for outdoor dining, the press release states that under this stricter State guidance, all restaurants, wineries, and bars in Alameda County may only be open for drive-through or pick-up/delivery options.

As Oakland businesses continue work to safely reopen under the terms of Alameda County’s shelter-in-place order to slow the spread of COVID-19, the City of Oakland offered a reminder today that it will continue supporting economic recovery and enable easier access for patrons of local businesses by reactivating all parking meters citywide, effective July 6. Ticketing at time-limited parking zones (such as 1-hour zones and 2-hour zones, for example) will also resume July 6.

The City of Oakland and Waste Management of Alameda County Inc., announced today that curbside bulky pickup services will resume July 1, providing all Oakland residents an opportunity to dispose of large unwanted items at no charge by simply making an appointment and placing items curbside before 6 a.m. on their scheduled bulky pickup day.
