May is National Bicycle Safety Month, and the Oakland Police Department is encouraging everyone to get active and safely take bike rides while at the same time reminding drivers to be on the lookout for more people biking and walking.

The City of Oakland published the final draft version of the Downtown Oakland Specific Plan (DOSP) for public review in March. The final draft version of the new zoning and land use rules that will help implement the DOSP are now available for public review as well. These new rules update the City's Zoning Map, Planning Code, and General Plan to help advance DOSP’s goals. The Final Environmental Impact Report (FEIR), which includes a response to public comments is also available now.
