On February 14th, 2021, at about 7 PM, the Oakland Police Department received a report of a deceased male inside a tent at Mosswood Park. Oakland PD Officers located the male and found him deceased with traumatic injuries.

On February 8, 2021, Mayor Libby Schaaf and Oakland Police Chair Regina Jackson swore-in LeRonne Armstrong as Chief of the Oakland Police Department. Chief Armstrong was born and raised in West Oakland, California, and is a graduate of McClymonds High School.

On January 26, 2021, at approximately 8:32 PM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 7800 block of Bancroft Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult (Oakland resident) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound(s).

On January 18, 2021, at approximately 6:01 AM, Oakland Police officers were dispatched to the 10200 block San Leandro Street to investigate a report of an auto collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, officers located a pedestrian, who was unconscious and lying in the street.
