Oakland, CA — The Oakland Police Department wants everyone to celebrate New Year’s safely. We want to remind our community members setting off illegal fireworks and shooting firearms can put you and the people you love at risk for injury and even death.

Over the last year, the Alameda County Narcotic Task Force (ACNTF) which the Oakland Police Department is a member of arrested or detained more than twenty individuals connected to drug sales. Detectives recovered more than a dozen firearms, narcotics, and more than $183,000 in cash.

The Oakland Police Department is investigating the vandalism and theft of the bust honoring Breonna Taylor. Investigators have obtained and are reviewing video from businesses in the area.

On December 19, 2020, at approximately 4:04 AM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of 68th Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting.

On November 3, 2020, the Oakland Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting in the 1400 block of 92nd Avenue.

Oakland, CA. - Additional officers from the Oakland Police Department will be out on patrol several nights from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM looking for drivers suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
