Oakland, CA — At a press conference today, the Oakland Police Department announced several arrests made in connection to multiple homicide cases.

Oakland, CA —Today, October 22, 2020, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged Freddie Smith, 57, in connection with three counts of vandalism along with enhancements alleging a hate crime.

On October 22, 2020, at 11:15 am, the Oakland Police Department responded to the 1600 block of High Street on a report of a person wanted in connection with a double homicide that occurred in the City of Oakland.

On October 18th, 2020, at approximately 2:20 AM, Oakland Police Officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the 8300 block International Boulevard.

On October 18th, 2020, at approximately 12:58 AM, Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 9900 block of MacArthur Boulevard to investigate a report of a shooting.

On Thursday, October 15th, 2020, at approximately 8:27 PM, Oakland Police Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of 89th Avenue to investigate a Shotspotter activation.

On October 14, 2020, at approximately 12:37 p.m. Oakland Police Officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of 84th Avenue to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located three male adults (Oakland residents) suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

The Oakland Police Department would like to make the public aware of an attempted sexual assault that occurred on October 9, 2020, at approximately 7:50 AM, in the 700 block of Prospect Avenue.

On October 2, 2020, at about 11:22 p.m., the Oakland Police Department was dispatched to the 2100 block of MacArthur Boulevard regarding a report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced deceased on the scene.

On September 30, 2020, at about 1:00 a.m., the Oakland Police Department was dispatched to the 2000 block of Wood Street regarding a report of a possible dead body.
