The At-Large Council 2024-2025 Midcycle Budget Amendments and Directives extend beyond the present moment. They are a strategic investment in Oakland’s future, aiming to enhance financial stability and bolster essential services. These proposals prioritize community health and safety while fortifying revenue streams and expanding the City’s tax base.

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) has seen two recent residential robberies in East Oakland, where suspects dressed in plain clothes verbally identify themselves as police officers. To keep our community informed and safe, we are issuing this safety advisory.

Oakland Police Officers responded to a report of a person armed with a firearm selling illegal fireworks from the trunk of their vehicle. The incident occurred in the area of 7th Street and Willow Street around 7:00 p.m. on June 29, 2024.
