The project features improved visibility of the creek, an ADA-accessible interpretive pedestrian pathway, enhanced native rainbow trout habitat, new native trees and vegetation, and a new public restroom. This site will offer creek-related educational opportunities while improving water quality and flood control, creating habitat, reducing erosion, and protecting the adjacent roadway and homes.
The Oakland Waterfront Trail is a part of the San Francisco Bay Trail, a planned 500-mile network of bicycle and hiking trails that will form a continuous ring around the Bay.

Funding by a State of California grant, the Uptown Wayfinding Signage Pilot Project brought together City staff and interested stakeholders to improve the signage in the triangle bounded by 14th Street, West Grand Avenue, San Pablo Avenue and Broadway.
